Why no one ever built a travel summit for Asian women

It's easier for an idea to stay an idea than execution

Me in Qingjing Farm, Nantou in Taiwan. I took my parents to the Switzerland of Taiwan.

Building a travel summit is exponentially harder than it seemed

After following the success of our launch party in Singapore, Joanna and I decided to plan a 4 day travel summit in Taiwan 2024.

It is and will be the first of its kind, dedicated to Asian women who love business and travel.

The idea came to fruition when I was like, “Why hasn’t anyone done this before? Let’s do it ourselves then.”

Once we started planning, we realized how much logistical effort and late nights are spent working on this summit. Ideas are easy to come up with, but the execution and planning took us over 6 months.

That’s entrepreneurship though, right? Having the guts to take on the responsibility of bringing an idea to life, with the potential of it failing or succeeding. That uneasiness, that grey cloudiness, but also that excitement and spark of potential success.

Getting Sponsorships by Simply Asking
If you go on our website, you can see our broad list of logos, which most notably is Taiwan Employment Gold Card Office and Coffee Meets Bagel. We even got $500 USD worth of products from Lo & Sons because I asked.

What you see are the sponsorship logos, but you don’t see the sales pitch, the negotiations, the creation of the pitch deck, and more. At some point, you just get over being afraid and pitch to companies if they want to be involved.

What I’m Grateful for
The volunteer team behind the travel summit has been phenomenal. It’s awesome seeing everyone flex their creative muscles and contribute to the success of our travel summit, especially Joanna as she directed the entire event. Without them, the summit would have just stayed an idea.

What’s Next
Our travel summit comes March 28th in Taipei, Taiwan. We sold out of our travel tickets already, but still have business tickets, the networking party mixer, and a cooking class event.

This is probably the biggest milestone and event for our community. If you’d like to support, please share with friends, post on social media, or donate to our cause in the ticket section. See you in Taiwan!! 🇹🇼 - Emily

⬇️ To watch - Avatar: the Last Airbender is out on Netflix in a live action series! From the casting, the gracious nodd to cutural roots, and the feelings it brought from our childhood, it’s a must watch. Time to binge it on Netflix or hop over to your friend’s place to watch!

🍹 To drink - Chi forest lychee fizzy sparkling water is now my go-to substitute for boba and soda. It’s similar to Sanzo, and better than La Croix in my opinion.
