THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL BY THE GUARDIAN
Hyper-interactive spaces - Within 10 years, travelers will “have no need to encounter another human being” from the moment they check in. Electronics will be wired to start your day, from massaging your neck to waking you up in the morning.
Space travel - Architects Foster + Partners are currently involved in a project with the European Space Agency exploring ways they could build structures on the moon with the help of 3D printers, so a lunar hotel could be on the horizon.
Underwater rooms - Sub-aquatic hotels will be a “far more mainstream proposition” by 2024 and underwater tourism will certainly trump space travel.
Localization - More tools for personalized travel abroad will continue to increase in popularity; the gap between culture will close as travelers want to seek authentic experiences. It’s estimated that 5-10% of people could be renting out their homes to travelers.

In my art I hold space for the chaotic, the provocative, the imperfect; all things I was told not to be as a woman and child of immigrants. Portraying the beauty in diverse bodies of all shapes, sizes and colours is extremely important to me, especially in an art world that repeatedly centers the white and thin.
